24 Heures Motos: final preparations with only 4 days to go!

All the riders are champing at the bit to do battle. They will take to the track on Thursday evening for the first practice sessions after having passed scrutineering and administrative checks.

The 40th anniversary of the race will take place in sunny conditions
The 24 Heures Motos will bathe in a summer ambience. According to the latest weather forecast published by Méteo France, the sun will shine on the Bugatti circuit from the opening practice sessions onwards and throughout the race with corresponding temperatures, which will climb to 26°C!

Festivities will kick off on Wednesday at 16:30 in the Le Mans town centre on the Place des Jacobins with a huge new exhibition devoted to the motorbikes that will start the race at 15:00 on Saturday. This is a great opportunity to discover endurance bike racing, see the machines up close and rub shoulders with the riders who will also be on hand.

Safety has been beefed up for the arrival of the motorbike fans at Le Mans
The motorway is five times safer than other road networks so the toll gates will be free for class 5 vehicles from 10:00 on Friday 20th April to 10:00 on Monday 23rd April on the motorways below:

  • A11: between the Saint-Arnoult and Le Mans tolls, between Angers and Le Mans, and between Angers and Nantes
  • A81: between Le Mans and La Gravelle (Vitré)
  • A85: between Angers and Restigné
  • A28: between Saint-Christophe-sur-le-Nais and Le Mans, and between Alençon and Le Mans

In addition, to persuade the bike riders to rest and take a safety break on the way, Calmos stops will be put in place: drinks distributed, snacks, rest space, visors cleaned, technical assistance, tyre pressures checked, information from the Fedération Française des Motards en Colère (FFMC); etc.
