The LM P3 champions in the ELMS receive their prize

The prize promised to the drivers winning the LM P3 Drivers’ Championship in the 2016 ELMS is a test in LM P2. It’s a strong signal of intent and provides a great opportunity to be assessed by a team engaged in FIA WEC.

British team Manor Motorsport is giving Alex Brundle, Christian England and Mike Guasch, the opportunity to do the test in its two Oreca 05-Nissans. The three drivers will run the cars on the Bahrain circuit and learn how to drive them and supply Manor with enough information to evaluate their progress.

The winning team in the ELMS LM P3 team’s championship, United Autosports, has been given an invitation for the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours in LM P2 provided it is entered for one of the ACO endurance series. It’s an exceptional prize because of the number of potential entrants in this category.

These tests are part of the purpose of the endurance drivers’ ladder created by the ACO. Its aim is to enable teams and drivers to hone their skills and get used to the specificities of endurance cars and then move up to the upper levels. Thus from karts, the first step on the ladder leading to the top level of motor sport and the blue-riband category in endurance, LM P1, learning driving skills and training future stars are one of the ACO’s priorities.
