The ACO is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Jean-Paul Plée, track marshal at the SHARK Helmets French Motorcycle Grand Prix, early this morning. Despite the rapid response of the track’s emergency crews and the ensuing intensive care at the medical centre, the ACO’s Chief Medical Officer sadly reported that Jean-Paul had died. Jean-Paul had been a marshal at the ACO’s auto and motorcycling events since 2002 and 2003 respectively. He was 58.
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest extends its most sincere condolences to Jean-Paul’s family and loved ones. ACO President Pierre Fillon: “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the devastating news of the passing of Jean-Paul, a fine example of our devoted team of volunteer marshals. My warmest thoughts go out to Jean-Paul’s family and loved ones. They can count on our full support at this time of deep sorrow.”
Dorna, race promoter PHA/Claude Michy, the French Motorcycling Federation and the ACO will pay tribute to the memory of Jean-Paul Plée during the SHARK Helmets French Motorcycle Grand Prix.
