As has been the case every year since 2011, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest in partnership the Mega CGR in Saint Saturnin – Le Mans is organising a special movie evening at Le Mans for the premier of the screening of the official 2016 Le Mans 24-Hours film.
All the surfers who will not be able to come to Le Mans can enjoy this action-packed evening as they will have an exclusive opportunity see the film live on myACO, the ACO’s digital community which uses an innovative portal devoted to auto-mobility.
So rendezvous on Thursday 24th November 2016 at 20:00 to relive the 84th staging of the greatest endurance race in the world.
Brad Pitt, the honorary starter of this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, probably didn’t expect such a hectic, exciting weekend. The battle between the 60 cars that lined up on the grid at 15:00 on 18th June raged throughout the 24 hours. And then out of the blue came the incredible twist at the finish when the Toyota in the lead ran into mechanical problems on the last lap gifting victory to the Porsche driven by Romain Dumas, Marc Lieb and Neel Jani! Never in its history, which is full of amazing upsets, had the Le Mans 24 Hours known such a denouement!
Thus, Porsche scored their 18th win in the greatest endurance race in the world while Toyota was left to rue a victory snatched from them in the last four minutes. Ford’s return was crowned with success as the American company won the GT category exactly 50 years after the first of its four consecutive victories in the overall classification. And of course the wins of Alpine in LM P2 and Scuderia Corsa in LM GTE were also outstanding achievements. Cruel for some, beyond imagination for others, the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours will remain engraved in everybody’s memory.
Through the eyes of men and women who make the Sarthe classic the greatest, most mythical endurance race in the world, the official film of the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours plunges us into the heart of this deeply human adventure with its unique, magic ambience thanks to its content
that’s rich in anecdotes, insights, interviews and images as impressive as they are moving.
After the screening of the film, spectators and web spectators are in for more thrills thanks to the spectacular bonus featuring footage from the on-board cameras: they can also follow the debate held in the presence of some of the major players in the 84th race.
At the end of this evening the official film of the 84th Le Mans 24 Hours will be on sale in DVD format in the Mega CGR in Saint Saturnin – Le Mans, and the next day in the official Le Mans boutiques and selected sales outlets.
To ensure that you will be able to attend the screening on 24th November, or to avoid the queues we recommend that you reserve your seat in advance. You have two possibilities: go directly to the cinema or via internet thanks to the e-reservation on the site: www.cgrcinemas.fr
