A message from Felipe Massa to the 24 Hours Karting

The 24 Hours Karting will be held on 29-30 September in Le Mans. The world-class event is supported by ex Formula One driver and President of the FIA karting committee Felipe Massa.

As any fan of Le Mans knows, many racing drivers start out in karting, an excellent way to hone driving skills and learn the ins and outs of high-level competition. The 24 Hours Karting is one of the highlights in the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s busy schedule. Running for the 33rd time on 29-30 September, the spectacular endurance race is a magnet for karting aficionados, both competitors and spectators.

Having started out in karting and going on to win eleven Formula One Grand Prix, Felipe Massa is a fitting ambassador for the discipline. He has recorded a special message for the forthcoming event in which he emphasises that karting is where most professional drivers start out. On the track at a young age, they learn how to take corners, understand the influence of tyres and brakes, dabble in preparing a chassis and become familiar with the technical side of racing. Massa wishes the competitors a closely-fought race with lots of overtaking and sends his best regards to all.
