Fully 90%* of information needed for driving is processed through vision. Road safety therefore calls for the best corrective and protective lenses, 24/7. As official sponsor of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and MissionH24, Essilor will be contributing its expertise in correcting and protecting the vision of racing drivers and everyday motorists, improving precision and field of vision, adjusting to levels of brightness and weather conditions, reducing fatigue, and adapting to night driving – all factors that significantly influence reaction times.
The partnership agreement includes the MissionH24 programme which aims to create a class for prototypes with an electric-hydrogen powertrain at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024.
As a key player in sustainable mobility, the ACO shares with Essilor a taste for innovation. The 24 Hours of Le Mans, a testing ground for the mobility of tomorrow, demands performance, endurance, safety and innovation – all key issues for Essilor.
The partnership will involve numerous trackside events and campaigns on the topic of “24-hour vision” over the next three years, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and more widely, with road safety the key message.
Further details on the partnership will be released at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 21-22 August.
