Flag in hand, Camille Lacourt, five-time World swimming champion, gave the starting signal to the 52 motorbikes participating in this 45th edition, a special one marked by the return of the public and the fans.
This 45th edition of the 24 Heures Motos, marked by the return of the public and an audience of 62,000 after two editions in a row behind closed doors, saw Yoshimura SERT Motul and YART - Yamaha battle it out throughout the race. At 3pm, tens of thousands of spectators finally got their chance to greet the team led by Damien Saulnier. As in 2021, the Franco-Japanese team showed impressive focus throughout the 24 hours of the race, and carried away the Suzuka Trophy, which symbolises the most successful Asian team and the friendship between the two circuits. F.C.C. TSR Honda France completed the EWC podium to confirm the hegemony of the Japanese bikes in endurance racing, Suzuki won the 24 Heures Motos for the 14th time, while the SERT added a 12th victory to its belt.
A MUCH AWAITED VICTORY FOR THE POMPIERS
The 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers CMS Motostore clinched a victory in the Superstock class. Led by the Clere-Guittet-Steinmayr trio, the team placed a Superstock bike in the top 5 of the general ranking. The race saw a legendary battle between four teams, all of whom had hopes of a podium finish with an hour to go.
Of the 52 starting teams, 39 saw the chequered flag.

I would like to congratulate Gregg Black, Xavier Simeon, and Sylvain Guintoli, who made their mark on this long-awaited edition of the 24 Heures Motos. Congratulations also to Hugo Clere, Baptiste Guittet and Philipp Steinmayr, who carried off trophies in the Superstock class. Finally I would like to thank the tens of thousands of people who came to the track this weekend. We have missed you, and the atmosphere of the 16th and 17th of April will go down in the history of the event.
After the 2022 24 Heures Moto, riders will compete in the second round of the FIM EWC World Championship in Belgium with the return of a legendary track: the 24h SPA EWC Motos will take place on 4 and 5 June 2022.
