On September 29th and 30th, the 33rd edition of the Le Mans 24 Heures Karting will share the programme with the very popular 24 Heures for Trucks. So, holders of a 24 Hours for Truck ticket will have direct access to the karting circuit, located close to the Bugatti.
For the last three years, the Le Mans 24 Heures Karting has reached a new milestone by obtaining international recognition under the name of CIK-FIA Endurance Championship, a title that involves more and more large factory teams and experienced drivers at the Le Mans Karting International circuit.
The arrival of the new powerful and reliable OK engines has boosted the event for three years. In 2017, the battle was intense for the conquest of the prestigious CIK-FIA Endurance Championship in which the best specialists of the discipline compete against factory teams and drivers. So far, experience has spoken with the 2016 victory of Sarthe RTKF, then in 2017 of Rouen GSK, teams experienced in endurance racing. However, the professionals of CRG SpA kept up the suspense until the finish, finishing 2nd by less than 50'' after 1374 laps, or 1901 km, covered. The Sodikart crew had to deal with some mechanical problems in the night and gave their all to return from 10th to 3rd position. The factory teams have never been so close to victory, who knows what will happen this year...
But the 24 Heures Karting is also achievements at all levels in the other categories of GP2 and GP3, less expensive and accessible to all of the enthusiasts, young and old, who provide the bulk of the entries. The spectacle is intense during the two times round the clock of this legendary event.
In 2018, the ACO decided to create a synergy between the two events by scheduling them on the same date so as to to promote endurance karting.
The seventh of the eight events of the FIA European Competition Truck Championship, the 24 Heures for Trucks attracts a very large family audience, regularly reaching 55,000 spectators.
The atmosphere will therefore be even hotter than in previous years at the Le Mans Karting International circuit for the 33rd edition of the 24 Heures Karting.
The ACO dedicates all its energy to the preparation of the event in collaboration with the CIK-FIA, along with its karting club, the ASK ACO. Entries are already open and there will not be long left to gain a place among 40 teams who will be abble to start on Saturday, 29th September at 15:00.
